There are times when it''s better not to rent a car when visiting a new city.

For instance, if you''re visiting San Francisco or New York City you''ll find a number of different modes of public transportation to take you to your hotel.

Once you''ve arrived at your destination, there is an excellent public transit system in both cities, as well as plentiful taxis, to take you around town. Given how limited the parking availability is in San Francisco and New York, you''ll find your trip much less stressful if you choose not to rent a car and opt for public transportation.
