Generally the pre-paid fuel plan is a good idea if 1) you are unsure of the local price of fuel, and don''t want to pay too much for fuel just before returning the vehicle or 2) you like the convenience of not having to worry about how much fuel is left in the vehicle prior to returning it. With the daily fluctuations in fuel prices these days it can be a difficult call to determine if you can find fuel for cheaper than the rental agency is offering. Most people opt for the plan simply because it is convenient and enables them to not have to worry about the fuel level of the vehicle when returning it.
